CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
This Cancellation & Refund Policy explains how subscriptions, payments, cancellations, and refunds work for PLAIN ("we," "us," or "our"), available at https://plainrights.app (the "Service"). By making a purchase through the Service, you agree to this policy. This policy forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service.
PLAIN is a digital service. We do not sell or ship physical goods, so there are no shipping, returns, or exchanges.
OUR PLANS
PLAIN offers:
- A free tier, which lets you use core features at no cost so you can decide whether PLAIN is right for you before paying.
- Paid subscriptions, billed on a recurring basis (for example, monthly or annually) through our payment processor, Stripe.
- Pay-per-action purchases, which are one-time charges for a specific action or output (for example, generating a particular document).
Prices are shown in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless stated otherwise and are charged at the price displayed at the time of purchase.
SUBSCRIPTIONS AND AUTOMATIC RENEWAL
Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually, depending on the plan you choose) until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorize us, through Stripe, to charge the applicable subscription fee to your payment method at the start of each billing period.
We will charge the subscription fee using the payment method on file. If a payment fails, we may retry the charge or suspend your access until payment is resolved.
HOW TO CANCEL
You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings at https://plainrights.app/account, or by contacting us at altercontactemail@gmail.com.
When you cancel:
- Your cancellation stops the next automatic renewal.
- You keep access to your paid features until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. Your plan then ends, and you are moved to the free tier.
- We do not charge you again after you cancel, unless you choose to resubscribe.
You may also be able to pause or downgrade your plan instead of cancelling. These options, where available, are in your account settings.
REFUNDS
As a general rule, all fees are non-refundable, and we do not provide refunds or credits for:
- Partial or unused subscription periods after a cancellation (you keep access until the end of the period instead);
- Pay-per-action purchases once the action has been used, started, or the output has been generated or delivered to you; or
- Periods during which your account was active but you did not use the Service.
Because PLAIN delivers digital information and outputs immediately, a pay-per-action purchase is considered used as soon as the requested action is performed or the document or output is generated.
Exceptions. Despite the above, we will provide a refund where one is required by applicable law, or at our discretion in cases such as:
- A duplicate or clearly erroneous charge;
- A technical failure on our side that prevented the Service from delivering what you paid for; or
- Any situation where applicable consumer protection law (including, for residents of British Columbia, the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act) gives you a right to a remedy that cannot be waived.
Nothing in this policy is intended to limit or remove any rights you have under mandatory consumer protection laws in your province, state, or country. Where this policy conflicts with such laws, those laws apply.
HOW TO REQUEST A REFUND
If you believe you are entitled to a refund under the exceptions above, contact us at altercontactemail@gmail.com within a reasonable time and include your account email, the date of the charge, and a description of the issue. We will review your request and respond. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method through Stripe.
CHARGEBACKS
If you have a concern about a charge, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. Filing a payment dispute or chargeback without contacting us may result in suspension or termination of your account while the dispute is reviewed.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Cancellation & Refund Policy from time to time. The updated version will be shown by a new "Last updated" date. Changes apply to purchases made after the updated policy is posted.
